TRAVELLING TO NICE - Airports and train stations

Located on the Côte d’Azur in southeastern France, Nice is a well-served destination, easily accessible by various means of transport. Whether you’re traveling by plane, train or car, Nice is ready to welcome you.

By plane

Nice Côte d’Azur Airport is France’s third busiest airport, after Paris. It offers direct flights to numerous cities in Europe, North America, the Middle East and North Africa. From Paris, the flight takes around 1h30. The airport is about 6 km west of the city center, and shuttle buses, cabs and car rental services are available for transfers into the city.

By train

Nice is well connected to the French and European rail networks. The main station, Nice-Ville, offers direct services to other French cities, such as Paris, Lyon and Marseille, as well as to international destinations, including Italy and Switzerland. The train is a comfortable and environmentally-friendly option for getting to Nice.

By car

Nice is easily accessible by car thanks to the French freeway network. The A8 freeway, also known as « La Provençale », links Nice to Marseille in the west and to Italy in the east. Nevertheless, it should be noted that parking in Nice can be difficult, especially during major events such as the Rugby World Cup.

By bus

Nice is also served by an intercity bus network. Several companies offer long-distance services from many French and European cities. Buses are an economical option, although they generally take longer than trains or planes.

By boat

Finally, if you’re traveling along the Mediterranean, Nice has a port with connections to Corsica and other destinations.

In short, Nice is easily accessible, whatever your preferred means of transport. Prepare yourself for a trouble-free arrival in this magnificent city on the Côte d’Azur.
